Sometimes, in the early morning you just have to pause to listen to the singing blackbird. His song beautiful and clear, a contemplation for all of life, a natural loveliness that leaves upon the mind fleeting intuitions of the presence of a deeper serenity.

In these few moments when you first enter the park, there is a sense of oneness with the whole of creation; a feeling that goes beyond description. Freely given, the elegance of this small bird and the beauty of his song, lifts the spirit and renews the soul, ready for a new day. Nothing else need be said; all alone, lost in thought, my feelings drift away…

Spring wind
come once again –
do not be too rough
on the delicate branches and buds
of the green willows.
